Hamilton teen found in stolen vehicle in Grimsby

Police say they believe there may be numerous other victims after arresting a Hamilton teen for being in possession of a stolen vehicle in Grimsby.

The 17-year-old male was found in the front passenger seat of a stolen vehicle early Friday morning in the area of Bell Ave. and Park Rd., while police were responding to reports of a suspicious male attempting to enter vehicles. 

Police determined the vehicle had recently been stolen from another Grimsby location.

The teen told police two additional males were in the vicinity on foot.

Officers canvassed the area with a canine unit but were unable to locate the other two males. 

Police said they believe there are numerous victims within the neighbourhood are trying to identify those people.

Anyone who thinks their property has been entered or who has been robbed recently is requested make an official police report.

The teen was arrested and charged with the alleged offence of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Police continue to search for two other suspects. 

The identities of the suspects cannot be released according to the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
