Two St. Catharines residents were arrested Thursday and police are searching for a third in connection with the trafficking of purple-tinted fentanyl within the city.
Police said they started investigating the trio in April and observed the parties making suspected drug deals from a Carlton St. address, as well as making deliveries in a vehicle.
As a result, a search warrant was executed around 3 p.m. Thursday and police found significant amount of Fentanyl powder, crack cocaine and marijuana was seized, as well as $2,305 cash, believed to be the proceeds drug sales.
Police said the purple fentanyl is “consistent with other recent St. Catharines seizures of the drug.”
Charged are Kadell Lynch-Bailey and Ashtonne Goring-Francis, both 24, and Rohan Chandler, 23.
Lynch-Bailey and Goring-Francis were both charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a Schedule II substance, and possession of proceeds of crime.
Chandler was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.
Police said Fentanyl is currently being sold for $30 per 0.1 grams and crack cocaine is currently being sold for $100 per gram within St. Catharines.
In total, police said the drugs seized have an estimated street value of $14,670.
Lynch-Bailey and Chandler were held in custody pending a bail hearing Friday.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Goring-Francis.
