Brock cancels exams as ice storm looms

Some Brock University students will have a few extra days to study for their exams this week, as winter threatens to slam back into the region.

The university is cancelling all exams scheduled for Saturday after Environment Canada declared the growing likelihood of an ice storm.

Saturday exams will now take place on Thursday, April 26.

Environment Canada said Rain is expected to start tonight and change to freezing rain with a chance of hail by Saturday afternoon, lasting into the evening.

Brock said around 55 exams were rescheduled.

In addition, Brock’s annual Sankey Lecture is cancelled and will be rescheduled.

Swimming lessons and first aid classes will operate as planned.

The university advises anyone who is planning to attend the campus for public or other non-academic activities to check with organizers to confirm if the events are still taking place.
