Welland woman facing alleged drug charges

A Welland woman was arrested on multiple alleged drug-related charges Wednesday.

Police say the arrest is the result of an investigation into the sale of cocaine from a Welland residence. 

As the investigation went on, police said it became “evident that other homes in the area were being used to facilitate the drug trafficking operation.”

On April 11th, officers executed three search warrants at Welland residences, seizing both bulk and prepackaged cocaine with a street value of approximately $2,160, and cannabis plants with an estimated street value of $15,000.  

A quantity of cash were also seized, along with “various trafficking indicia.

Lee Anne Lamontagne, 46, of Welland, is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, production of cannabis, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Lamontagne was held pending a bail hearing on Thursday.
