Spots open for Garage Sale at the Gale

Clean out your attics and basements, because the city of Niagara Falls is looking for volunteers for its annual Garage Sale at the Gale in June.

The event, put on by the city’s recreation committee, sees a variety of vendors set up shop for the day in the parking lot of the Gale Centre in support of the city’s Activity Subsidy Fund.

The event will take place June 23 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Last year’s event saw more than 100 vendors sign up for the event, including artists, crafters, collectors, hobbyists and sellers with garage-sale-style shops.

“With the success and strong attendance at last year’s event, we’ve decided to expand our vendor offering and selection to include a more diverse offering,” said Paisley Janvary-Pool, chair of the recreation committee, in a city release.

“It’s a great opportunity for members of our community to spring clean and sell items from their basement or garage, and the event provides crafters and entrepreneurs a chance to sell their items.”

Organizers are encouraging those who are interested to secure a parking spot soon.

Those who wish to participate must complete a vendor application form, which are available at the MacBain Community Centre on Montrose Rd. or at, niagarafalls.ca.

Vendors may book single or multiple parking spots.

Fees (all prices include HST):

Early bird (until April 30): $20 per parking spot

After May 1: $25 per parking spot; cube vans $40Vendors will be responsible for handling their own sales and will retain all profits from sale of their items.

Vendor applications and questions should be directed to Dolores Sacco at 905-356-7521 ext. 3342 or dsacco@niagarafalls.ca.

The deadline for applications is Friday, June 1.

The Activity Subsidy Fund subsidizes the cost of recreation activities, including registration fees and equipment expenses for families in Niagara Falls.
