Time to bring out the brooms for the city of Niagara Falls, as they hold their annual Fall Community Clean Sweep on Oct. 14.
The event, consisting of going through local neighbourhoods, parks, trails and removing litter and other undesirables, helps residents personally contribute to making the community not only cleaner but safer. The event sees all types of businesses, residents and schools taking part, and is a great way for students to acquire their mandatory community service hours.
The event allows volunteers to select a public area they believe needs the most attention.
Volunteers will meet at Oakes Park at 10 a.m. to get cleaning supplies.
The event will be held rain or shine, and volunteers are required to dress appropriately.
In order to volunteer, you must pre-register at www.niagarafalls.ca/cleansweep.
