A 41-year-old resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake has died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night.

Police said the man was struck on Irvine Road at about 9:25 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old St. Catharines male, remained at the scene.

Police say the driver was the sole occupant of a Toyota Corolla.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital where he died from his injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing by detectives with the reconstruction unit and the office of the coroner.
