Niagara-on-the-Lake has 16 active cases of COVID-19, according to Niagara Region public health statistics for Jan. 2.
In total, Niagara-on-the-Lake has had 104 cases since the start of the pandemic. Those cases have avoided NOTL's long-term care homes, despite long-term care facilites being one of the most affected areas across the country.
The Niagara region saw 123 new cases Jan. 2 and 110 new cases Jan. 1.
Across Niagara, there have been 4,183 identified cases of COVID-19, with 24.3 per cent of all Niagara cases being linked to a long-term care facility.
Of the total cases, 142 people with COVID-19 have died.
The highest number of cases (1,423) have been amongst people aged 20 to 39.
