Couple arrested for alleged crime spree

A man and woman have been charged in connection to a series of crimes in St. Catharines.

Police say the couple were hired to paint homes in the city the months of November to January, and allegedly stole various items multiples residences when left unattended.

Charged with 21 total offences are 34-year-old Shaun Taylor and 38-year-old Catherine Young, both of no fixed address.

Alleged offences include: breaking and entering; theft over $5,000; theft under $5,000; mischief under $5,000; fraudulent use of a credit card; and failure to comply with a probation order.

Taylor and Young were held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
