Sean Simpson of Simpson’s Pharmasave is at it again, thinking of new, creative ways to support the Niagara community.

The store is offering a 10 per cent of its online sales, and matching those discount amounts, for a donation to two different Niagara non-profits — United Way Niagara or Red Roof Retreat.

When completing an online order, customers can choose where they want to send the donation by entering discount codes. Simpson’s will match the discount amount in a donation to the chosen charity.

“We’ve had long-standing relationships with both the Red Roof Retreat and the United Way,” said Simpson, who has been a member of United Way's board of directors.

“It was kind of put together because we were celebrating the 10th anniversary of our downtown location,” he said, “so we thought, celebrations are all looking different so let’s celebrate by giving a discount online.”

“It’s a way of supporting a wide range of programs all across Niagara and that’s one thing we really liked about working with the United Way,” he said.

The codes, UNITEDWAYNIAGARA or REDROOFRETREAT, can be used more than once until May 31.

“Our priority since the pandemic started has been the safety of our community. The creation of simpsonspharmacy.store was imperative for us to provide a safer shopping experience for people in Niagara,” said Simpson in a United Way Niagara media release.

“We hope Niagara residents will take advantage of our local online experience, and continue to support other Niagara-based small businesses. We’re delighted to provide a safe experience where people can shop from home and receive free delivery anywhere in Niagara, or curbside pickup, and also be able to give back to local groups that provide much needed support in Niagara.”
