Niagara Regional Police will be conducting training drills on Sept. 20 and 21, in the area of Second Concession Rd. and Troup Rd. in Port Colborne.
The training will occur on both days between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Police are warning the public to expect an increased police presence and say the sounds of simulated gunshots might be heard, along with a smell of smoke.
There will be signage in the area, police say.
They are advising the public to stay away from the training sites for their own safety and the safety of the officers involved.
“The training is not open to the media or the public,” said an NRP release.
