Falls shooter arrested

A man and woman have been arrested in connection with a Niagara Falls shooting that occurred outside of a local bar on Main St. in October.

The incident took place around 2:25 a.m.

Police had sought public help for information and were able to identify one victim who was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

On Friday, police arrested and charged 20-year-old Michael Velemirovich of Fort Erie with the alleged offences of: aggravated assault; pointing a firearm; discharging a firearm with intent to wound; careless use of a firearm; possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a license; carrying a concealed weapon; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition; failure to comply with a sentence.

Velemirovich has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.  

Eighteen-year-old Kiara Minto-Perrin of Niagara Falls is also charged with accessory after the fact to commit indictable offence.

Minto-Perrin was released on a promise to appear.
