Amazon won’t be delivering its new headquarters to Niagara.
On Thursday, the online retail giant released a list of the 20 cities to make the final cut.
Of the list, the only Canadian city being considered is Toronto.
When it was announced in October of 2017 that Niagara Falls would be one of the 238 suitors to apply to receive the headquarters, Mayor Jim Diodati told Niagara Now he knew it was a long shot.
“We all know and appreciate the fact that it’s a long-shot. But you miss all the shots you don’t take, and we felt that we have a shot — albeit long, we still have a shot, so we put the oar in the water,” he said in October.
He said the city had applied because of its unique position on the Canadian-US border.
Story in development.
