30th annual Candlelight Stroll is Dec. 6

The 30th annual Candlelight Stroll in Niagara-on-the-Lake will take place Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m.

As is tradition, the guided stroll will wind through the historic Old Town, with streets lined by more than 15 choirs, bands and seasonal entertainers from the Niagara region.

The stroll begins at the old courthouse building located at 26 Queen St., with the singing of Christmas carols and lighting of candles.

Parking for the evening is available at Fort George National Historic Site, located at 51 Queen's Parade. A complimentary shuttle is scheduled to run from 4:30 until 9:30 p.m. from Fort George to the Court House. It's also just a short walk.

Candles can be purchased at the Visitors Centre found in the centre of the parking lot, or on the street during the event. Food donations for Newark Neighbours can also be left at candle stall locations.

The stalls will be located out front of the following stores on Queen Street: Hatley, LCBO, Just Christmas, Ten Thousand Villages, Versions, the Stagecoach Restaurant and Wine Country Vintners

Candles are one for $3, or two for $5.

Those in attendance are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item in support of Newark Neighbours.
