A Niagara Falls man has been charged in connection with selling stolen high-end bicycles, police say.
Members of the Street Crime unit arrested a man on Tuesday for allegedly selling a custom built Swiss-made BMC Impec bicycle worth more than $10,000.
Police say the bicycle was reported stolen from a tourist's vehicle last in July.
A police investigation into a rash of high-end bicycle thefts targeting the tourist areas of Niagara Falls led to the arrest of 27-year-old Kody Mounsey, who is charged with trafficking property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, driving while under suspension, driving a motor vehicle without a validated permit, two counts of failure to comply with recognizance and failure to comply with a probation order.
Mounsey is in custody pending a bail hearing at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St.Catharines on Wednesday.
