Alleged cocaine dealers busted

After nearly a year long investigation by police, two St. Catharines residents were arrested Thursday on drug trafficking charges.

Police say the investigation, started in January of 2017, involved sales of cocaine throughout St. Catharines, as well as from their residence.

Police executed a search warrant at the residence of the accused parties on Thursday, seizing a quantity of cocaine and crack-cocaine with an estimated street value of $5,000, as well as drug proceeds amounting to $3,500.

Charged with possession for cocaine the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and possession of a prohibited weapon, are 34-year-old Pablo Aguilar and 28-year-old Samantha Brown of St. Catharines 

Aguilar was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to terms of probation.

Both Aguilar and Brown were held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday.
