NOTL's Upper Canada Lodge is expected to close in 2022, but the number of beds in Niagara-on-the-Lake will be unchanged as Pleasant Manor plans to add 120 beds to its long-term care facility.

Linhaven in St. Catharines is expected to provide 261 beds, increased from 248, by 2024. The number of beds at Gilmore Lodge in Fort Erie is also expected to increase to 160 beds from 80 beds by 2022.

The estimated cost of the long-term care redevelopment project is $175 million, said Henriette Koning, director of senior services for Niagara Region.
