Police say a 36-year-old Welland man was attacked by three men in his driveway on Tuesday at about 5 a.m.
They said the victim was approached by the three males in his driveway on Division St. when a disturbance ensued.
One of the alleged assailants struck the victim in the head by a golf club and another struck him with a pipe, before fleeing the scene after being alerted by the victim's girlfriend.
The victim was transported to Welland County General Hospital for treatment of lacerations on his head and a fractured cheek bone.
Police arrested and charged are three males from Welland.
43-year-old Martin Kowalczyk and 38-year-old Luke Kowalczyk were charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
Also charged with assault causing bodily harm is 51-year-old Paul Paparoni.
Police said all three males were held in custody pending the outcome of a bail hearing on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in St. Catharines.
