Deadline approaches for Niagara Falls Cultural Development Fund

The City of Niagara Falls is encouraging residents to help bring the city to light by offering grants to support cultural development. 

Any individuals, groups or organizations with plans for cultural advancement in the city can apply for grants of up to $10,000.

The City of Niagara Falls Arts, along with the city's museum committee, created the Cultural Development Fund to support innovative programming and increase cultural initiatives for residents and visitors of Niagara Falls.

The committee will be looking for projects that are based in Niagara Falls, accessible to the public and encouraging of partnerships and shared costs. , Projects must run between March 2019 and February 2020, and projects which have already received funding through the CDF grant are not eligible, however applicants may propose updated initiatives for those projects.

Applicants are encouraged to think outside the box to create projects that build local cultural identity.

The deadline for applications is Jan. 31 at 4 p.m.

Previous winners have made advancements to ongoing projects and developed new initiatives. The Carmel Fine Art and Musical Festival worked towards expansion while 4680Q developed a start-up online radio station keeping focus on local music, news and entertainment.
