If you’re a champion at, or a champion of breastfeeding, take note: Niagara will be joining the 12th annual Canada-wide Breastfeeding Challenge event on Saturday Sept. 29.
Families from across Niagara are encouraged to participate in this event that celebrates and normalizes breastfeeding, and breastfeeding in public.
The challenge is to have the most children breastfeeding at the same time in a specific area — in this case, at Sears Court in the Pen Centre (221 Glendale Ave., St. Catharines).
This is an opportunity for community with purpose, and to show the normalcy and healthiness of breastfeeding.
Participants are encouraged to arrive between 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. to register. Latch-on is at 11 a.m. sharp.
The event includes refreshments and activities led by EarlyON Child and Family Centre.
Parents can register by visiting breastfeedingniagara.ca, by calling the Parent Talk Line at 905-688-8248 or 1-888-505-6074 ext. 7555, or in person before the Breastfeeding Challenge.
