NOTL Cats Rescue will hold a silent auction fundraiser this Saturday and Sunday at Pet Valu in Virgil.

The event will also double as a birthday party for Pet Valu’s store cat Thomas, who was saved by NOTL Cats.

Viewing and bidding for the silent auction items starts Saturday morning and runs to Sunday at 3 p.m.

The birthday party is Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include cake, a charity barbecue, vendors and prizes.

All proceeds from the weekend will go to support NOTL Cats Rescue, a small non-profit group of volunteers who work with the community to minimize the stray cat population.

All money raised goes directly to the cats for things like vet bills, food, litter and shelter.
