The weather was warm and the sun was shining for this year’s Icewine Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake, as thousands came to sip Niagara’s liquid gold on Saturday.

The annual festival, now called the “Icewine Village” took over Queen St., bringing together local wineries and Signature Kitchen chefs to showcase their icewines and culinary treats in the atmosphere of the historic old town, complete with a variety of live entertainment, fire pits and ice sculptures.

In total, 26 wineries took place in the event, drawing thousands of people.

Some wineries included Pillitteri Estates, Pondview Esates and Niagara College’s Teaching Winery.

Restaurants included Zees, The Oban Inn and Ravine.

The event continues Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.
