For those that take their holiday light displays to the next level, there are the Sparkle Lighting Awards, which each year recognize the best residential and commercial lighting displays in Niagara Falls.
This year’s winners were announced Friday, selected by a group of volunteer judges from the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights who viewed all nominated properties.
The displays were judged based on their overall appearance, creative illumination, colour coordination and originality.

Ward 3 – 7006 Dirdeen Street
Ward 4 – 6436 Dorchester Road
Ward 5 – 8090 Woodsview Crescent
Ward 6 – 3604 Bridgewater Street
Multi-Residential: Victoria Park Tower, 6521 Drummond Road
Commercial: Great Wolf Lodge, 3950 Victoria Avenue
Sparkle Lighting Award Hall of Fame: 6511 Riall Street, 6919 Fairlawn Crescent, 7786 & 7792 Springblossom Drive (2009-2016)
Residents are encouraged to visit these beautifully illuminated homes as part of their next outing to the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights.
“Niagara Falls residents have created some amazing displays this winter,” said Tina Myers, executive director of the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights, in a press release. “We love to see that people across the whole city are getting into the festive spirit. The winning Sparkle Lighting participants have really gone above and beyond this year.”
