Late Club Niagara wants to show support for local families this Christmas.

Club promoters have arranged a charity night called “Giving Back to the City, Lil Bitty” for this Friday at Late Club, with 75 per cent of door sales going to Pelham Cares to help provide families in need with a Christmas dinner.

The show will be headlined by local hip-hop artist Sayzee, and will include performances by Swish Styles, Flyboi, Choomgang, Luck, Will Dridge, DBLUU, Profit and Jakob Dell.

RJ Donaldson, one of the event organizers for Late Club, said he’s doing the event because he himself remembers many times his family struggled to put food on the table growing up.

“I had years where I had to fight tears looking at an empty Christmas tree. I just want to be able to help families as much as possible so they can enjoy Christmas too.”

As far as musical acts go, Donaldson said Sayzee is one of the top names in Niagara hip-hop.

“Sayzee has be doing this the longest out of any of us,” said Donaldson, who also performs as Swish Styles.

“I had him headline a show back in April and he sold out the venue by 12 a.m. I'm hoping to come close to doing it again as that will mean a lot of money to feed families.”

He said Sayzee is somewhat of a trend-setter in North American hip-hop, being the first to introduce “Dragon Ball Z hip-hop.”

“Sayzee has made quite a big impact not only locally but through north America. I feel he is the one who started Dragon ball Z in hip-hop. By his second album of an amazing trilogy he dropped all in one year, a lot of mainstream artists started following along with the idea,” said Donaldson.

Tickets are $15 advance and $20 at the door.

The event is for ages 19 plus.
