Heavyweight champ to defend title in Falls

Boxing's Canadian Heavyweight Champion will be decided tonight in Niagara Falls as Thunder at the Falls takes over the Scotiabank Convention Centre.

The seven-round night will see Canadian Heavyweight Champion Dillon “Big Country” Carman defend his title against Mladen “Monster Mel” Miljas.

Carman, from Madoc Ontario, has held the title of heavyweight champ since 2014, defending his title five times, while Miljas, of Mississauga, has an undefeated 7-0 record in professional fights, winning each round by knockout.

Carman has also become known in Canada for making television appearances on CBC’s Dragon’s Den and Big Brother Canada Season 5.

Also fighting will be heavyweight Kristian Prenga and England’s Ryan Robinson as well as Niagara Falls’ Marko Szalai, Slavko Paic and Joshuah Lupia.

Tickets are between $50 and $75 and are available at, globallegacyboxing.com.

Ringside seating and VIP tables are available from $2,000 to $3,500.
