Letter to the editor: With horse protester rights, pendulum has swung too far

SUBMITTED BY EARLE VANCE, NOTL.
OPINION

Dear editor:

So, the Charter of Rights guarantees a minority fringe group the freedom to try to put a local business out of business and infringe upon and try to destroy the character we want in our town, (“Horse protests frustrating but legal, mayor says,” The Lake Report, July 25).

That’s the tail wagging the dog and an overindulgence to a self-righteous group of misinformed morons. Sad.

In days gone by they would have been tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail. The pendulum has swung too far.

And the Niagara Regional Police? Useless as usual, except to give out tickets for speeding.

The same goes for our bylaw officers, for ticketing residents in front of their homes and service people – for parking near the long-closed former Parliament Oak School.

Regards,

Earle Vance
