Police are seeking help identifying a suspect after a purse was stolen from an elderly woman’s cart in a grocery store located in the area of Louth St. and Fourth Ave. in St. Catharines.

The 83-year-old victim learned that at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Sept. 15, her purse went missing.  She believed it had been stolen.

The purse is described as "chocolate brown" and contained the victim’s house and car keys, as well as her credit cards health card.

Police say loss prevention officers were able to assist by reviewing closed circuit surveillance video.  The footage shows a female who appeared to be targeting the complainant, following her around the store.

The suspect can be seen removing the purse from the victim’s buggy before exiting the store.

The suspect, photographed above, is described as a white female, 25 to 35-years-old, wearing a royal-blue felt-like overcoat (buttoned-up), royal-blue baggy pajama pants with white flower print, a black baseball cap, black sunglasses and black dress shoes.
