A pop-up dinner in support of Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold sold out so fast organizers are opening up 100 more seats.

The dinner, to take place May 11 at the old Lincoln Fabrics building, will be a five-course meal prepared by some of Niagara’s finest chefs and paired with local wine.

The old Lincoln Fabrics building will soon become the future home of the Port Dalhousie Harbour Club Condos.

Last year’s event raised over $11,000 and event organizers said this year they hope to triple that amount.

“The response to the third annual Pop-Up Dinner has been overwhelming and we are ecstatic by the enthusiasm of the Niagara Community,” said Betty-Loud Souter, chief executive of Community Care.

“Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the best of Niagara’s finest chefs while supporting the 21 programs and services that the agency provides to those in need – filling tummies, ensuring warm beds and a roof over their heads each and every day.”

This year the event is bringing in what its calling a “dream team” of chefs, including The Good Earth Food and Wine CO. chef Andrew Thorne; Bolete chef Andrew McLeod; and Wellington Court’s Erik Peacock.

More chefs are to be announced, said a media release.

Tickets are $200 per person and can be reserved by calling Laura at Community Care at 905-685-1349 ext. 245, or by emailing laura.byers@communitycarestca.ca
