Third child pornography arrest in February

A St. Catharines man has been arrested on alleged child pornography charges.

Police say an investigation started in January let them to a St. Catharines residence, where a search warrant was executed Friday.

“A number of computer systems and storage media were seized and forensically examined,” said a police release.

Charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography is 24-year-old Andrew Donohoe of St. Catharines.

Donohoe was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Saturday at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

So far four people have been arrested on child pornography charges in the Niagara region in 2018, of publicly released cases. This is the third case in February.

(Jan. 18) http://www.niagaranow.com/news.phtml/314 — 27-year-old Nicholas Johnson of Niagara Falls is charged with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and making available child pornography.

Members of the public can report suspicious internet activities relating to child exploitation directly to police, or online at cybertip.ca.
