Teen accosted in Thorold, fends off man with scooter

Police are looking for a man who accosted a 13-year-old boy in Thorold on Wednesday.

At around 6:45 p.m., police say the man came up behind the boy while he was walking with his scooter in the area of Clara St. and Taylor St. in Thorold and wrapped his arms around him.

The boy used his scooter to fend off the man and then fled the area without injuries.

The suspect is described as between 50 to 60 years old, 180 lbs, with a shaggy red moustache, sunglasses and a grey mesh hat.

A black truck was also seen in the area that may or may not be connected, police say.
