Collision kills 19-year-old in Port Colborne

A 19-year-old man is dead after his vehicle struck a tree in Port Colborne Tuesday morning.

Police said at approximately 10:10 a.m., officers and emergency vehicles responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Brookfield Rd. near Second Conc. 

Police said an investigation determined the man was driving a 2014 Hyundai Genesis south bound on Brookfield Rd. when he lost control of his vehicle and it left the roadway, striking a tree. 

The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene.

Police aren’t releasing his name at this time out of respect for the family.

The collision remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 905-688-4111, ext. 5500.
