The body of a missing 89-year-old Niagara-on-the-Lake man, Egon Epp, was found near Ricardo Street and Navy Hall Monday afternoon.
Out of respect for next of kin, police said no further details are being released at this time.
Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this investigation.

Niagara police are asking for the public's assistance locating a missing 89-year-old man.

The man, Egon Epp of Niagara-on-the-Lake, left his home at about 8:30 a.m. Monday headed to the post office on Queen Street. Police determined he never made it to the post office.

Epp resides in the area of Charlotte and James streets and was last seen shortly after leaving his house near Charlotte Street and John Street East.

Epp is described as being clean shaven, around 5'6" tall, with a slender build. He was wearing a dark brown jacket, a brimmed Greek-style hat, brown pants and beige suede shoes.

His family and police are concerned for his welfare as a result of the weather and his ongoing medical conditions.

The public is asked to be on the lookout for Epp as he may be on foot in the area of Old Town NOTL.
