A local jam-making company is doing what it can to help animals in need by donating a significant chunk of its jam sales to help Beaver Creek Farm Sanctuary, an animal rescue in Wainfleet.

Lisa Traficante, owner of 2x4 Jam Co. in Niagara-on-the-Lake, says 80 per cent of the company's jam sales will go directly to the farm and the money will go directly to the animals for vet care, medication, food and supplies.

She is hoping to raise at least $500.

Beaver creek is a completely volunteer-run organization which means alll donations go to the sanctuary.

“It isnt often you find a charity where 100 per cent of your money goes to the cause,” she says. “Usually the funds end up in administration but not here.”

Traficante said her and her friend came up with the idea to collaborate over the holidays.

"My friend Silvana Cronier is the volunteer coordinator for beaver creek and we got to talking over the holidays where I donated some jam and items for the auction and thought what a good way to give back to a worthwhile organization," she says.

Most of the jams are made from Kauzlaric farms, except for the strawberries, which come from Jordan — the figs are Turkish, she says.

Available flavors are: peach, cherry (limited supply), strawberry (limited supply), grape, pear, apricot, nectarine, purple plum, golden plum, sugar plum, red plum, apple-butter, pear-butter, jalapeno, fig, and plum butter.

Orders can be made by contacting Lisa at 2x4 Jam Company via her facebook page at Click here for Facebook Page Or Text/call her cell 289-257-1971 Or email her at

The fundraiser will go until the end of January or until she's out of jam, whichever comes first.

"These Yummy jams won’t last long, don’t delay, get yours today," she says.
