Niagara police officer involved in traffic collision

A 26-year-old Niagara police officer was sent to the hospital Wednesday after the marked cruiser he was driving was involved in a collision with another vehicle.

The collision occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday in the area of Montrose Road and Greendale Street in Niagara Falls.
 
A section of Montrose Road between Lundy's Lane and Highway 420 was closed for approximately four hours while police investigated.

As of yet, no charges have been laid.
